Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of bodywork, practised through clothing, that can be gentle or more dynamic. Sessions may include acupressure, stretches, and self‑help techniques, and are shaped collaboratively in response to what arises in the moment.
Often described as a dialogue of Ki (vital energy) between practitioner and receiver, Shiatsu aims to support balance, connection, and a sense of wholeness. Since graduating from the Northern School of Shiatsu in 2002, I have been continually inspired by its capacity to support individuals while also strengthening connections within and between communities.
Shiatsu is highly adaptable and suitable for people of all ages and circumstances. I work attentively and ethically, prioritising safety and consent at all times. Touch can be a powerful resource, and sessions are paced carefully, with particular sensitivity to individual histories and needs.
I have extensive experience working with survivors of abuse and with people affected by cancer. I am an experienced practitioner and teacher and have facilitated cpd courses at the Northern School of Shiatsu on:
Table Shiatsu, Stretching in Shiatsu & Traumatic/Anxiety Responses and Shiatsu
